There was plenty of buzz around the camp that day. A new cat was just brought into ThunderClan; some stray kittypet who had managed to remove her collar and was taken to camp by Snowstar. The tortoiseshell and white she-cat had not been there to witness her being introduced, but the young warrior had heard plenty already about the confident young newcomer. Her teal eyes narrowed contently as she rested, she wondered when she would meet this new cat. Fennelstem wanted another cat who had come from outside the Clan around, hoping that the newcomer was going to be staying. Being a former rogue herself, even though her mother Whitepelt had once been a warrior of ThunderClan, she could sympathize with this new cat, despite the warrior having spent all but three and a half moons as a member of the Clan.
Another thing that she had heard other warriors gossiping about was how Branchclaw had to be put in his place by Nightmare, a thought that made the normally very sweet she-cat grin slightly. Fennelstem had no personal quarrel with the tom, but his rather crass thoughts regarding non-Clanborn cats was enough to cause her some happiness at learning that he was put in his place. The young warrior only wished she could have been there to see it herself, rather than having to hear about it through the gossip of the other warriors. Of course though, she had her reservations about allowing a former kittypet into the Clan. She had still been wildborn, and did not know yet if the former kittypet knew how to hunt. Despite this small reservation, she still believed that this new cat would at least be worth giving a shot at Clan life to. If I could learn to live by the warrior code despite having been born to a couple of rogues and living as one, then anyone could. Even if I am actually half ThunderClan, it was still a struggle, she thought, sick at herself for even thinking that the newcomer shouldn’t have been welcomed with open arms.
Fennelstem looked across camp, pondering something to do to pass some time, preferably something even a tiny bit useful. The fresh-kill pile was stocked already, so there really wasn’t much of a point in trying to convince Nightmare to put together a hunting patrol again. Her short black tail twitched with uncharacteristic restlessness, desperate to be kept busy, like she was not so long ago as an apprentice. Huffing, she shut her teal eyes, hoping that if she just ignored the restlessness it would go away on its own. ”Maybe I should just go out and hunt. At least I won’t be moping around thinking about petty gossip,” she muttered, though she stayed in her place, not quite sure what she wanted to do.

ooc: Don't mind the sort of choppy nature of her character; she is still in the late stage of development and me getting the hang of her. Any posts on this thread will be me somewhat molding her a bit more so she isn't so flat. >.<'
